Luis Almeida Costa,

Negotiation Analysis

LUÍS ALMEIDA COSTA holds PhD and MSc degrees in Management from INSEAD. He is a Professor at Nova School of
Business and Economics, where he was an Associate Dean and the Director of the MBA Program. Luís Almeida Costa also teaches in several other business schools, such as Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, INSEAD and IMD, where he is a Co-Director of the Negotiating for Value Creation program. He has been designated the Best Teacher in several institutions where he has taught. His research, teaching and consulting focus on Negotiation and Strategy. His work has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Journal of Business, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Handbook of Strategy and Management, etc. Luís Almeida Costa was responsible for consulting projects and conducted executive programs for numerous companies and governmental agencies in several countries, such as Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

Paulo Amaral,

IT & E-commerce

Paulo Cardoso do Amaral is a Professor at the Portuguese Catholic University, both in the graduate and undergraduate
management programs, where he is currently coordinating the EMBA on Digital Innovation. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Paris, and an MBA in International Business from the Portuguese Catholic University. Paulo worked as CIO for large companies and is currently a board member of the Portuguese Expo group in the area of tourism. He has published a book on competitive intelligence and industrial espionage and another on Knowledge Management.

Jean-Pierre Bizet,

Strategy

Jean-Pierre Bizet is a Partner at New Science Ventures LLC, a New-York based Venture Capital firm, and Non-executive board member of several companies and non-profit foundations.
From 1980 until 2013, he was successively: Senior Partner at McKinsey and Co. Inc., in Paris, CEO of GIB Group, a leading Belgian retail group and a BEL-20 company, CEO of D’Ieteren, then also a BEL 20 company and a multi-business group (Carglass Worldwide; D’Ieteren Auto, the Belgian distributor of VW Group’s automobile brands; and, until 2011, Avis Car Rental EAMEA). He is an Affiliate Professor at ULB-SBSEM where he has been teaching strategy since 1980. He is aa graduate of Solvay (INGE), Harvard Business School (MBA), and holds a PhD in Applied Economics from ULB.

Ant Bozkaya,

Global Entrepreneurship

Prof. Bozkaya is an economist, entrepreneur, and global business executive. His insights have propelled the careers

of some of Solvay’s most successful alumni.Over the past decade, Prof. Bozkaya has held multiple positions at Harvard University, MIT Sloan School, and the University of California at Berkeley. He’s a Visiting Professor at Kyoto University and a Research Fellow at UC Berkeley.

Prof. Bozkaya’s interests include global entrepreneurship, innovation policy and management, entrepreneurial finance, family business, and corporate strategy and governance. Much of his work examines the ways in which financial intermediaries and institutional organizations impact the nature of innovation and entrepreneurship. Prof. Bozkaya was awarded the Innovation Policy and the Economy Fellowship at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in 2009.

Prof. Bozkaya was founding CEO of Bilkent Technology, Healthcare, and Power Group. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in management consulting in Sydney and London. He serves in boards of several companies and NGOs. He continues to invest and advise startups.

He was awarded a Harvard University Fellowship in Science, Technology, and Public Policy to conduct his doctoral dissertation research jointly at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics, MS, and MBA, from ULB.

Laurent Gheeraert,

Prof. Laurent Gheeraert holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Management from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Université Libre de Bruxelles). Until 2005, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and was involved
in operations, strategy and finance projects in Europe, South Africa and the Middle East. Since 2006, he has been advising several public and private institutions on topics such as international finance, Islamic finance, company valuation, portfolio analysis, public banking, and financial modeling. Laurent conducts research on financial systems and economic development. He teaches Finance and International Business-Field Project Management at Bachelor, MBA and Executive levels at the Solvay Brussels School, and is the Managing Director of the QTEM Masters Network (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management).

Alexander holds a Ph.D. as well as a Master’s degree from University of Mannheim. His research interests are in branding,
B2B marketing, technology marketing, innovation management, and entrepreneurship. Alexander teaches at institutions such as Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and LIMAK and is frequently invited to institutions such as the Technical University of Munich (TUM), University of Mannheim and University of Passau among others. He has published in the leading journals such as the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Marketing Research and was recently listed among the 50 most productive researchers by the American Marketing Association worldwide.
Besides his research interests, Alexander works in innovation consulting with corporates such as adidas, Allianz SE, Audi, Bosch Siemens, Canon, Deutsche Telekom, Elsevier, Evonik, Freudenberg, LEGO, Lufthansa, Vodafone and various startups. In the classroom, Alexander enjoys discussing theoretical concepts combined with hands-on examples from daily business life.

Guido is the Dean of the College of Extended Learning at San Francisco State University. He develops and executes strategies for his university that increase access and that build a portfolio of programs and certificates in order for professionals to gain additional skills for the workforce.

Diane Lejeune,

Strategy lab

Combining a scientific background, 12+ year-experience in biotech, pharma, vaccines, diagnostics and digital health, with business and strategy expertise, Diane Lejeune focuses now on “Transforming healthcare, one start-up at a time”
by providing Venture Capital financing to promising Healthcare start-ups, helping these innovative companies disrupt patient care and the economy.
Prior to joining the Healthcare and Life Sciences Venture Capital department of PMV, Diane worked 12 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, where she developed end-to-end knowledge by holding different positions from R&D, clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, commercial and portfolio strategy, in immuno-oncology, immune disorders, respiratory, vaccines and beyond-the-pill digital health services.
She is a pharmacist from Université de Louvain with a PhD in immuno-oncology, as well as a post-doc in molecular modeling and an MBA from Solvay Brussels Schools.

Robert Marx, Ph.D. is a Professor of Management at Isenberg School of Management at The University Of Massachusetts
Amherst. He has been a Visiting Faculty at ENPC since 2005. His Teambuilding and Leadership Seminar has served as the first course for each ENPC MBA and EMBA offered in Paris and the first Solvay-Ponts MBA offered in Brussels. In addition to his position at The University of Massachusetts, Professor Marx teaches MBA courses and executive seminars at the Mediterranean School of Business MSB, Tunis, Tunisia, ALBA Graduate Business School, Athens, Greece, the Executive Aeronautics MBA, Tsinghua, University, Beijing China, and SIMBA, The Shanghai International MBA, Shanghai, China.He is the author of several books; including The Virtuous Organization: Insights from Some of the World’s Leading Management Thinkers (with Charles Manz, Kim Cameron, and Karen Manz) He consults with numerous corporations in Europe, the Mediterranean, and the United States. of Centre Emile Bernheim, the faculty’s research centre in management science. He specialises in political macroeconomics and economic integration. His fields of interest include the political economy of monetary policy, and the impact of political institutions on economic performance. Having started off his work life as a clinical psychologist working in the psychiatric unit of a general hospital in Adelaide,
South Australia Chris moved into business world as a Corporate HR Manager. There followed a variety of general manager positions across the whitegoods, plastics and childcare industries culminating in the role of Divisional Managing Director in the UK. He then studied for his doctorate in strategy and organization at Warwick Business School and became a member of the faculty there before moving back to Adelaide to the University of Adelaide Business School.

Nils Tuchschmid,

Nils Tuchschmid is currently professor and head of the Finance Institute at the Haute Ecole de Gestion Fribourg, (HEG-FR ; University of Applied Sciences). Before joining HEG-FR, Nils was a Partner and Head of Tactical Trading Strategies at Tages Group.

Previously, he was the Co-Head of the Alternative Funds Advisory team at UBS and Head of Multi-Manager Portfolios at Credit-Suisse. He also worked as Strategist and Head of quantitative research and alternative investments at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise. Nils was Professor of Banking and Finance at HEG Geneva and Professor of Finance at HEC Lausanne University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Geneva and has published numerous articles and research papers in particular on asset management and asset allocation, on alternative investments and performance measurement.

Bruno Wattenbergh,

Entrepreneurship Lab

Bruno is today Senior Advisor and Innovation Ambassador for EY Belgium (ex-Ernst & Young).
Having started his career as a consultant, Bruno has been for 25 years an expert in entrepreneurship and SMEs.
He has been engaged in developing structures dedicated to the creation of enterprises and, in particular, the Brussels Enterprise Agency, which he founded in 2003 and manages until this day. Moreover, he was also the President of the Brussels Guarantee Fund whose mission is to warrant bank loans to SMEs (€ 30mio in 2012). He is best known for sharing his vast knowledge and experiences by giving lectures and classes on the subject of strategy and entrepreneurship at various universities, including HEFF, Solvay Brussels School, Tongji (China) and ICHEC. In 2011, he has been appointed as MBA Professor by Solvay Brussels School and teaches Business Model Innovation. Bruno is the current Academic Director of the AMISM program (Advanced Master in Innovation and Strategic Management).
Bruno also has a solid reputation with media in general. A national radio airs a daily chronicle on the subjects of entrepreneurship, economy and business strategy which he animates. He is also the creator of the reality TV emission on RTBF on the subject of entrepreneurship named Starter!. Bruno is Member of several business planning competition jurys such as Start Academy and Enterprise. He is coaching technological startups.
Bruno studied in Belgium, in the US, and in the Netherlands. He holds a degree in management, a degree in Labor Sciences, an advanced degree in Management and a Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT. He has completed a specific Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.

Studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the London School of Economics (PhD). Currently, Research Associate
at CPNSS at LSE.
My research interests are centred on the influence, which a broader scope of social and ethical considerations may have on questions of economic organisation and policy recommendations. Through the mix of theory, current issues and the history of economic analysis, I explore further the relationship between individuals, institutions and the way in which they affect both the conception of the economic problem (or the objectives of the organisation) and the means by which we measure and evaluate economic performance. Published work in numerous journals ; served as a book review editor ( Economica) and an associated editor on other journals’ boards.
Teaching experience includes, the London School of Economics (LSE, Hebrew University, Solvay (ULB), University of London, Paris I (Sorbonne), Singpore Institute of Management (SIM), Moscow State University, Intrenational College of Economics and Finance (Moscow), New Economic School (Moscow) and ISE (Almaty). I have written a textbook (OUP) and was involved in the establishment of three academic institutions.
